Planning an event is majorly difficult and stressful, so much so that many lists have named event planner as one of the most stressful jobs!
A Beginner’s Guide to Nailing Event Decor
You might not be an event planner yourself, but if you have party responsibilities, you’ll certainly know how much you want to pull out your hair.
Well, we’re here to help! Here’s how to do event decor right so you can wow your guests.
Choose a Theme
Before you start, you should choose a theme. This will make it easier to purchase your event decoration materials. Plus, it can be more fun for your guests to dress to the chosen theme!
For example, let’s say you’re having a family reunion and your theme is Hawaiian paradise. You can then buy tiki torches and other tropical-themed decorations. And your guests can dress up in grass skirts!
Figure Out a Color Scheme
After attaching a theme to your party, the next thing you need to do is figure out a color scheme. It needs to be in line with your theme!
Let’s take the example from above. For a Hawaiian-themed party, it just wouldn’t make sense to put pastel blues and pinks in anything. So you’ll want to have a color scheme that’s more earthy, like brown and green.
Add Some Neon Lights
We know that neon light uses are usually practical, but that doesn’t mean you can’t have some fun with it and get creative!
Put up some neon lights to light up the way, especially if your event is at night and your guests might have some trouble getting around. This will have the double benefit of not only making the night more exciting but also safer!
Use the Lights as Decor Too
On that note, why not use other types of lighting as decor? You can string up brightly colored lights of different hues to really light up the place!
For instance, for a Christmas party, stringing up some red and green lights can liven up the place and bring the holiday spirit in. It can also make the room brighter and safer to navigate.
Fill up Space With Balloons and Garlands
Balloons, garlands, and even confetti are some very cheap decorating materials. And even if you’re going for elegant event decor, there are gold and silver items that can suit your purpose.
Whatever you choose, they can be great ways to pull up a venue if you feel like it’s looking a bit big and empty. Scattering confetti across tables gives them a nice touch too!
Nail Your Event Decor to Impress Your Guests
