Disposable Plastic Syringe Manufacturing Project Business Plan TE-183

Share

Fabrication of disposable plastic syringes is ideal for those with extended competence in the health-related product industry.

Those syringes are predominantly formed from plastic and are employed in medical and veterinary science. They are utilized for intramuscular and intravenous injections, then discarded instantly after being used.

Historically, glass syringes were widely used. Now, disposable syringes are taking over due to their sterilized condition, being pre-sterilized, and cost-effectiveness.

The global prevalence of AIDS and other life-threatening diseases has necessitated the use of one-time, disposable syringes, which are typically injection molded out of polypropylene.

Learn how to launch a successful plastic recycling business.

Syringes come in different sizes (1 ml, 2 ml, 5 ml, and 10 ml) and designs, with a two or three-piece construction.

Injection molding machines necessary for producing disposable plastic syringes will vary, depending on their design, the number of cavities made, and annual output.

An advantage to using these is avoiding the transmission of any infections since they are disposed of immediately after use.

Market Potential of Disposable Plastic Syringe

The disposable plastic syringe has a thriving domestic market, as well as great potential for export to other countries. In order to maintain long-term exports, accreditation under ISO 14000 or ISP 9000 is mandatory.

Glass syringes are increasingly becoming unnecessary. In the nation, there exist many providers of disposable plastic syringes; out of which around 5 – 6 are classified as small-scale divisions.

The total capacity available has been touted to be about 400 million, with an operational production of 350 million.

Haryana is the sole region with a facility capable of fabricating 50 million disposable plastic syringes. Creation in the small-scale sector has not been considered because it is quite insignificant relative to organized units, and may eventually yield more inexpensive and great-quality items from the arranged area.

A few of these units are 100% export-oriented units. Presently, there is no production unit in Eastern India.

Manufacturing Process for Disposable Plastic Syringe

The injection molding machines generate the cylinder and piston. The various parts for molding are nourished by distinct granule feeding systems.

This identifies the applicable varieties and amounts of source material to be provided by the supply lines. Grasping vigor, Heat, Portioning, as well as infusion pressure of raw material, as well as squeezing period of the device are controlled mechanically so that troubles or mistakes in production should happen scarcely ever and wastages are kept at the minimal achievable level.

Separating Scrapes:

The scrapings are isolated from the shaped sections, which are then shifted to a control channel. A conveyor belt situated beneath the apparatus eliminates the scrapings.

For downsizing to their essential measurements. The shaped sections are put in plastic receptacles or bags and are positioned in a cooled storeroom for at least one or two days.

Once shrunken, the product logo and scales are imprinted on syringe cylinders with a semi-automatic embossing machine. Manual feeding takes place while the printing and release are completed automatically.

The vibrating feeders transport the cylinders and pistons to the assembly. The piston is then fitted inside the cylinder and tested for leaks.

The syringe is manually inserted into the blister packing machine when it seals individual units with plastic foil. Then, between 50-250 sealed units are packed into a cardboard box by hand, depending on the order requirements.

Sterilizing and Packaging:

The boxes are sealed, labeled, and pelletized. After storage for a few days, the products are then sterilized in the autoclave with ethylene oxide. Once the packing is complete they are ready to be shipped out.

To ensure sterilization, the cardboard boxes must be stored under normal conditions for two or three days before placing them in an autoclave on pallets.

To make the bacteria harmless, a certain amount of growth must occur within a minimum period from contact with the blister packaging.

To reduce the need for quality assurance, it is advised that the autoclave chamber should be designed to accommodate one daily production and tests be conducted in batches.

Since ethylene oxide is flammable, the equipment for sterilization must have an explosion-proof construction and be kept in its own room. One batch usually takes 8 hours to complete.

Syringes must be made according to accepted standards of quality control and should be free from defects that can impact their appearance, safety, and function.

Project Financial Snapshot of Disposable Plastic Syringe

The following is an estimated cost and return outline for starting a disposable plastic string business in India:

The cost of manufacturing disposable plastic syringes can differ should any assumptions change. You can adjust the project capacity or cost according to your needs.
