NewsHunt has made it big with a recent funding of $40 Million that it has received from Series C investors. This has taken the total investment to $58 Million from two rounds and four investors.
Among the investors are Omidyar Network, Matrix Partners India, Falcon Edge Capital and Sequoia Capital.
It is a Indian based company which primarily deals in eBooks. Founded by former Nokia employees it was soon acquired by Ver Se. The primary purpose of the acquisition was to build a platform product for the users of Indian languages apart from investing in bundling tools and for monetization.
Over a very short duration of time, NewsHunt has impressed the investors as well as customer base. This app is available for almost all the platforms including iOS, Android, BlackBerry, Symbian and J2ME. Also, it has got more than 75 Million installs to its credit and around 1.7 billion pages are browsed every month.
