In order for your company to be the best that it can be, you need to be at optimal work productivity. And this can only be achieved by having workers who feel empowered and motivated to help the business reach its goals.
This is easier said than done. But with proper management, you can help your employees feel like they are part of a team that is trying to achieve something worthy of their effort and increase your overall work productivity to new levels.
1. Support the Team’s Empowerment
You can support your team’s empowerment by giving your workers the tools that they need to complete their tasks. This means providing them with the resources and opportunities that they need to finish a project or another task.
You also want to make sure that you don’t micromanage. Don’t stand over their shoulders and scrutinize how they do everything. You need to trust your workers and be there to support them when they need it.
You should also encourage collaboration through platforms like Google workspace software.
2. Clarify Vision and Roles
Everyone on the team should know what the vision and goals of the job are. They should also know what their role is and how that role contributes to the whole. This leads to synergy, which can be very powerful and effective when employed properly.
3. Encourage Honest and Open Feedback
One part of empowering a team consists of getting everyone comfortable with each other. If an employee is intimidated by their manager, then they will be afraid to ask questions when there is a problem. This can lead to even bigger problems taking place.
Your employees should feel comfortable giving feedback when they see something isn’t working and they should be allowed to ask questions too.
4. Forgive Their Mistakes
Everybody makes mistakes. From janitors to CEOs. It’s something that every human does from time to time. If an employee is terrified of making a mistake, they might be too slow at their job or won’t take risks because they don’t want to be reprimanded.
If an employee makes too many mistakes, it is perfectly acceptable to warn them or even let them go. But if it feels like your company has a zero-tolerance policy when it comes to mistakes then your employees will feel the opposite of empowered. They will feel like they are helpless.
5. Show Appreciation for Their Contribution
One great way to empower your employees is through appreciation. If your employee goes above and beyond, they should be recognized and rewarded for that.
