Fear is a common challenge that every person faces throughout their life, and so does it happen with the first time entrepreneurs. It is a necessity that we need to ensure that we do not rush headfirst and recklessly in to something without first thinking about it and fear is a natural response to human mind, i.e. fear is a powerful and primitive human emotion. It alerts us to the presence of danger and it was critical in keeping our ancestors alive.
Even the most courageous people have fears. Honestly, fear is a vital response to physical and emotional danger and we find its strong roots in human evolution. For instance, if we didn’t feel fear, we couldn’t protect ourselves from legitimate threats and dangers.
Well, the fear becomes a real problem when it overcomes a person. For instance, fear in situations where the stakes are much lower, but the body and brain are still treating the threat as lethal. This is exactly what happens to most of the first time entrepreneurs, whereby the stakes are much lower, but their brain still considers the conditions dangerous, thus stopping them from taking right business decisions and encountering ultimate failure.
Let’s see what are the common entrepreneurial failures and how to overcome the same.
So what is entrepreneurial fear?
Well, it’s very much like general fear which is not real, it is only a story that you are telling yourself. It occurs when you are faced with something that you are unsure of what the outcome is going to be.
In other words it is a Fear of the Unknown due to you being put in a position where you are moving out of your comfort zone.
There are many situations in life and business in which you are going to come face to face with your fears. No matter what it is that you are afraid of, learning to acknowledge, confronting and taking ownership of your fear is the way to keep it from holding you back in life.
